Niết Bàn Tịnh Xá, also known as the Reclining Buddha Pagoda, is one of the most serene and unique Buddhist temples in Vũng Tàu. Overlooking the sea from the slopes of Small Mountain (Núi Nhỏ), it is not only a place of worship but also a popular sightseeing spot due to its spiritual atmosphere and stunning ocean views.

Niết Bàn Tịnh Xá features a blend of traditional Vietnamese and Buddhist architecture with several impressive highlights:

• A 12-meter-long Reclining Buddha statue, representing the Buddha entering Nirvana (Niết Bàn). The statue is made of white stone and lies peacefully inside the main hall.

• Intricate carvings and wall decorations that depict various scenes from the life of the Buddha.

• A bell tower, ornamental gates, and golden lotus-shaped lamps lining the paths.

• A sea-facing terrace, offering breathtaking views of the ocean and creating a tranquil atmosphere ideal for contemplation.

The pagoda is beautifully maintained and often filled with the scent of incense and the sound of wind chimes, enhancing its peaceful charm.

The pagoda is easily accessible by motorbike or taxi from the center of Vũng Tàu. Admission is free, but as with all temples, visitors should dress respectfully and maintain quiet behavior.
