Location and Overview

Trúc Lâm Hưng Quốc Pagoda is situated in Bản Sẳng, Chiềng Sinh Ward, Sơn La City, along National Highway 6. Spanning approximately 14 hectares, it stands as the first Buddhist temple established in Sơn La Province, serving as a significant spiritual and cultural landmark for the local community.

Architectural Features

Constructed between 2015 and 2017, the pagoda showcases traditional Vietnamese Buddhist architecture. Its design follows the Đinh (丁) character layout, featuring curved, overlapping roofs adorned with intricate dragon motifs. The main hall houses revered statues, including the Three Buddhas of the Past, Present, and Future, Shakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, and Trần Nhân Tông, the founder of the Trúc Lâm Zen sect. 

Spiritual and Cultural Significance

Beyond its architectural grandeur, Trúc Lâm Hưng Quốc Pagoda serves as a hub for Buddhist practice and community gatherings. It hosts various religious ceremonies, meditation retreats, and educational programs, fostering spiritual growth among practitioners. The pagoda actively participates in cultural and religious events, notably the Vesak Festival and Vu Lan Festival, attracting numerous devotees and tourists.
